Our diapers are routinely independently tested to ensure they are free from all harmful chemicals and compounds, including PFAS, chlorine, fragrances, alcohol, parabens, phenols, pesticides, formaldehyde, carcinogenic and allergenic dyes and pthalates - protecting your mini from rashes, irritation, and discomfort.

As much as a wetness indicator can be a helpful tool for a new parent, we do not include these in our diapers for good reason.

At this time, there is no chemical-free way to include a wetness indicator as they contain dyes that may be harmful to your baby, which is the primary reason Ecoriginals does not use one.

Ecoriginals wipes are manufactured in New Zealand in a facility that operates from 100% renewable energy – that’s energy from a combination of wind farms, hydro stations and solar arrays.

Our diapers include Certified FSC^® Wood Pulp, Compostable non-GMO Corn Starch, Tissue Paper and Certified Organic Cotton sourced from the United States, China and Japan. These raw materials are then consolidated and shipped to our New Zealand partner factory in China where our diapers are assembled and packaged into 100% Compostable Rice Paper packaging.

At this time, China is the only country that has the technology and capabilities to produce our premium eco diapers to the standards we require. Our partner factory are BRC Certified ensuring that our ethical production of goods and compliance standards are met.

Utilising our unique ultra absorbent Plantcell Technology™ Core, our diapers have a tried and tested absorbency of up to 900ml of liquid which is proven to keep your baby dry for up to 12 hours.

Our diapers also boast a 3D leak guard around the leg which helps minimise blow outs and leakage while providing a comfortable snug fit.

In general, a 6 Pack of Diapers will last you 3-4 weeks. This depends on your daily use but is calculated based on 8-6 changes per day. For newborns, you may need up to 8 changes per day, while for larger sizes, daily changes decrease to about 4-6 as your baby grows and less for the Junior Pants.

Based on our degradation testing, 91% of our diaper had completely biodegraded post use within a 3 month time frame. The remaining 7% being our tabs, cuffs and part of the frontal tape that for the time being require PE (polyethylene) for strength and flexibility did not degrade.

We continue to work with our supply chain to reimagine a 100% biodegradable diaper and have a target of 2027 to achieve this.

Our wipes can be composted at home with your veggie scraps and green waste.

Simply place your wipe in with the worms – or dig it into your garden. But we recommend leaving the #2s for your biodegradable bin bags and your regular waste collection. A wonderful resource if you don’t have your own compost is Share Waste where you can sign up to share your compost bin, or find a home for your scraps. We’re also working towards linking our customers with a service option for your biodegradable waste.
